Object Description
A Morton's non-luminous ophthalmoscope with a chain-of-lenses; a revolving disc at the top which contains 4 inset lenses and encases 29 other lenses which are adjusted by the lower brass disc. The middle disk indicates the strength of the lens in the sight-hole. On the reverse side are 2 circular mirrors [flat and concave], which are fixed to a plate that can be rotated around a central pivot. The base of the ivory and brass screw-on handle rotates to test colour vision. The ophthalmoscope is marked 'MORTON'S OPHTHALMOSCOPE CURRY & PAXTON LONDON'. Case missing.
