Set of 3 petri dishes [7.3 cm/2⅞ inch dia., 1.7cm/⅝ inch height] in round lidded container. Lid has words 'PATENT WIRA NECESSAR' imprinted on the surface.

Acquisition Detail

  • Owner: Dr. Harold Dyer
  • History of Use: Instruments used by Dr Harold Dyer [1875-1963] born in England, he completed his medical training [M.R.C.S. & L.R.C.P.] in London in 1898 and a fellowship [F.R.C.S] in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1904. Dr Dyer served in the Boer War between 1900-1902 and in WWI 1915-1918. He emigrated to Canada in 1905 and became health officer for the Municipal District of North Vancouver. He became Coroner in 1923 until he retired in 1961.
